Semliki National Park

Semuliki National Park, is located in Bwamba County, a remote part of the Bundibugyo District, in the Western Region of Uganda. It was made a national park in October 1993 and is one of Uganda’s newest national parks. 194 km² of East Africa’s only lowland tropical rainforest is found in the park.

Among over 60 mammal species the park got more than 400 species of birds  one of the best places for bird watching safaris activities.

Some of the Animals are buffaloes, leopards, hippos,  Mona monkeys,  water chevrotains, bush babies, civets,  elephants,  and the pygmy flying squirrel.

The park also has eight primate species including red-tailed monkey, Vervet monkey, blue and De Brazza’s monkey, grey-cheeked mangabey, olive baboon, black and white colobus, and Chimpanzee together with over 300 butterfly species.

3 Days Safari Itinerary 

Day 1: Transfer to Semliki National park: Night Game drive
Enjoy breakfast in Kampala and be driven to Semliki National park spending between 7 to 9 hours on the way. Make a brief stop in Fort Portal town for lunch before proceeding to the park. Have some rest at the park as you wait to carry out a spot lit, night game drive. Watch out for big cats, mangoose, serval cats, standard and pennant winged nightjars and many more, it is always a night with lots of surprises. Dinner and overnight at Semliki Safari Lodge (Full Board)

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking, Game Drive

Have a cup of coffee with snacks and go down into the stunning gallery rainforest to track wild chimpanzees. Bird life in this charming forest is unlimited. Retire from the chimp trekking for lunch at the lodge and later embark on afternoon game drive as you watch the sun set. Dinner and Overnight at Semliki Safari Lodge (Full Board)

Day 3: Departure 
In the morning, take breakfast and set off for Kampala where you will arrive in the afternoon or evening basing on the driver’s speed.
