Semuliki National Park

Semuliki National Park in Bwamba County is a remote section of the Bundibugyo District in the Western area of Uganda. Established in 1993, the park covers an area of 219 sq. km. and is the only lowland tropical rainforest in all of the East Africa Destinations.

One of the lesser-known and visited National Parks in Uganda, it’s famous for being home to the largest concentrations of Ugandan Kobs and is a rich wildlife destination in general. It’s important to know that there are two different parts to this park – the Semuliki Valley Wildlife Reserve and Semliki Valley National Park.

Wildlife at Semuliki National Park

  • This comprises more than 400 different species and of these 216 of them are forest birds.

Expect sightings of hornbills, orange weavers, Forest Ground Thrush, Blue-headed crested flycatchers, Capuchin babblers, Sassi’s Olive Greenbul, etc.
